DuraPine Weather Boards

Premium Cladding Solutions

DuraPine weather boards are a premium cladding product made from Clear and Premium grade Radiata Pine.  A quality assured preservative treatment process ensures full sapwood penetration of the timber resulting in superior durability and performance over the lifespan of the product.

Preservative Treatment

DuraPine weather boards are treated to H3 or H4 level using well proven copper-based, LOSP or GreenGuard (boron-based) wood preservatives making them suitable for use in exterior situations. DuraPine weather boards are guaranteed for use in exterior above ground situations for 25 years against rot, decay and termite attack when installed as per manufacturer's instructions.

DuraPine weather boards are available with chrome and arsenic free treatments for reduced environmental impact.

DuraPine weather boards are supplied kiln dried in final form ensuring ease of transport, installation and superior stability once installed.

Finishing

It is recommended that all DurePine weather board products have a multi-layer film-forming coating system applied to increase life-span and in-service performance.

If left exposed to the weather the product will fade to grey as with other timbers and the likelihood of warping or surface checking may increase.

DuraPine weatherboards can be supplied:

  • Raw (no coating)
  • Pre-primed- ready for application of acrylic paint on-site (also marketed under the BulletProof range)
  • Pre-coated with X-Coat or other proprietary transparent film forming coating system.
    X-Coat spec sheet

Exposed or cut off ends should be preservative sealed before installation and coating.

Fixing

DuraPine weather board products can be direct screwed nailed or fastened using secret fix systems as recommended by the manufacturer.

Durapine weather boards should generally be fixed onto a 'breathable' cavity backing system to allow circulation of air and any possible moisture ingress behind the boards through out product service life.

Consultation with local authorities is recommended to ensure conformance with relevant building codes.

Warranty & Certification

Radiata Pine products supplied by APL are available in FSC certified form. APL is committed to supplying timber products sourced from sustainably managed forests.

DuraPine weather boards are backed by a 25 year Manufacturer Guarantee, covering rot, insect and termite attack when installed according to manufacturer's recommendations.
