The Brand
Oregon pine™ : brand Douglas Fir has several distinct advantages over some US lumber. It is a pure species; only true Douglas Fir - Psuedotsuga menziesii Hem Fir, for example is made up of Western Hemlock, Noble Fir, California Red Fir, Grand Fir, Pacific Silver Fir and White Fir. A consistent species makes for a more consistent lumber.
Oregon pine™ : brand lumber is only supplied in one grade: No 1. Many lumber suppliers will offer lower grades, such as "Standard and Better" or "No2" product. Stocking only No1 grade lumber means less defects, less wastage and less customer returns.
Oregon pine™ : is high pressure treated and tested. All Oregon Pine™ lumber is pressure treated with a special formula, supplied with treatment certificates, tagged as treated, and tested for chemical retention. Independent testing organizations can provide test verification.
